Golden Crumb Bakery

Baked with
love & tradition

Golden Crumb Bakery was born from a simple belief: that truly great bread can change your morning. Founded in 2012 by the Moreau family, our stone oven has been firing since before sunrise every single day.

We stone-mill our own heritage grains, long-ferment every sourdough for a minimum of 48 hours, and source our butter, eggs, and cream from farms within 60 miles of our shop. You taste the difference — nutty crusts, open crumbs, pastry that shatters just right.

From our classic country loaf to our signature salted caramel croissants, everything leaves the oven fresh and everything sells out. We're a small team, proud of what we make, and glad you found us.

What Our Customers Say

The sourdough here has completely ruined supermarket bread for me — in the best possible way. I drive 25 minutes each Saturday just to get here before the country loaf sells out. The crust alone is worth the trip.

I ordered a custom lemon and elderflower cake for my wife's 40th birthday and the team absolutely knocked it out of the park. Stunning to look at, incredible to eat, and delivered exactly on time. Every guest asked where it came from.

Daniel Park

The salted caramel pain au chocolat is genuinely one of the best things I have ever eaten. I have tried to replicate it at home three times and failed completely. I have accepted that I will just keep coming back every week.

Sofia Reyes

Outstanding bread programme — the seeded rye is my personal favourite and the focaccia changes weekly which keeps things interesting. Only reason it's not five stars is that they sell out fast and I've missed the kouign-amann twice now. Get there early.

Tom Whitfield

Pre-ordered a dozen hot cross buns for Easter and they were genuinely the best I've ever had — generous with the fruit, perfect spicing, and the glaze was sticky and shiny as it should be. Already planning to order two dozen next year.

Aisha Nkemdirim

The cardamom cookies are dangerously addictive. I started buying a bag of six and now I buy two bags because I know I'll eat six before I get home. The shortbread is also excellent — proper buttery shortbread like my gran used to make.

Questions

We ask for a minimum of 48 hours' notice for all custom celebration cakes, and at least one week for wedding cakes or large multi-tier orders. For peak periods — Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, and summer weddings — we strongly recommend booking four to six weeks ahead to secure your date.

Yes. We offer a dedicated gluten-free range baked in a separate prep area on Thursdays, and a selection of vegan pastries every day. All allergen information is displayed on the counter cards. Please speak to a team member about cross-contamination if you have a severe allergy — we are transparent about our kitchen processes.

We open at 7:00 AM Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 AM on Saturday, and 8:00 AM on Sunday. We are closed on Mondays. The sourdough, croissants, and kouign-amann regularly sell out by 10:00 AM on weekends. Arriving early is always a good idea — we post daily bake updates on our Instagram the evening before.

Absolutely. We offer a weekly bread subscription (one or two loaves per week) and take pre-orders on all seasonal specials including hot cross buns, stollen, and holiday gift boxes. Pre-orders can be placed by phone or via our contact form. A 50% deposit is required for all custom cake orders at the time of booking.

We stone-mill a significant portion of our flour on-site using heritage wheat varieties sourced from Camas Country Mill in Junction City, Oregon — about 100 miles south of Portland. We also use certified organic bread flour from Shepherd's Grain, a co-operative of Pacific Northwest family farms. We believe the quality of the grain is the foundation of everything we make.
